Maddy Orford
Maddy as diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and severe heart failure when she turned 18. She was initially fitted with a state of the art defibrillator pacemaker and a daily regime of medication. But after being assessed for transplant she was placed on the urgent waiting list.
Maddy was scared of what was to come, but the way she faced her fear earned her the love and respect of all the doctors and nurses looking after her, and she has inspired so many people.
